Readme files were never my strong point.

- Let's Play Section -
Adding links to game pages that direct to their soundtrack downloads in the forums.

- Forums -
When using header image as link, it directs to LP Section instead of forums.
Header image randomizes in forums as well as LP Section.
Redesign of forum CSS to better match LP Section.
Catching up on Electric Leftovers in Podcast section.
Getting proper Post Icons added to old posts. Mostly in Podcast/Soundtrack sections right now.
New Review section.
Moving soundtracks hosted off site.
Checking id3tags for all soundtrack files to make sure they are accurate and complete.

- Top Shelf -
The custom, made from scratch CMS that we use here at the site Developed between Kewlo, Ragnatz, and Myself (but mostly Kewlio, let's be honest) has become PixelCat. We're currently running the unofficial 1.2 version and Kewlio is getting ready to send me version 1.3 ~ Azrael .

This doesn't mean a whole lot to most folks, but it's basically what's going to improve the functionality of the website and include a ton of changes. You can probably expect me to get it all implemented by the end of the week.

So just an update for everyone, and this will go into the forums as well, BlueHost has been kinda dickin' me around on the price of our hosting and I'm none to pleased. I don't care that it went up, I care that it went up and they won't tell me why.

So I started looking around for some alternatives, just in case, and decided that at the very least pulling our domain might be a good idea.

I've used a placed called Registar in the past and they've been ok, but I ran into the exact same issue there that BlueHost was giving me. $12 sub total, you owe $12, a cost of $29.95 annually. No explanation, no reason. Just more than twice the price after the initial payment.

So I decided to ask about that. At the time, I've heard nothing yet.

Meanwhile, Scarlet called me and told me about another hosting service called Arvixe. I checked them out this morning and it looks pretty good. It's cheaper, we get essentially everything we've already got... but their servers are Linux based instead of windows based.

Now I'm 99.9% sure we'll be fine to make that switch, but I'd like to be 100% sure with stuff like this. I did some looking around online, checked out some forums, sent them a support ticket, and have reached out to Kewlio to see what he thinks... since he basically built the cms we're using for the videos. Everything, at this point in time, looks good... though I haven't heard from him yet.

If this ends up being a good option, we're going to take it. It's less for 2 years with these guys than it is 1 year with anyone else. Basically, we've got enough right now to cover that. Saves us money, we don't have to do the fund raising as much, plus we're going to get some ad credits with bing and google.

Anyway, that's where we're sitting with everything at the moment. When I know more, I'll be sure to let you guys know.

Alright folks, it's nearly time. Our hosting expires in a little over a month and we are, as per usual, coming to our awesome members for any little bit of help they can give us to keep the place open.

Our total for hosting renewal is just shy of $160, so that's gonna be our goal for the month.

We need to raise that money before July 10 (which gives us a week buffer) to keep the site up and running.

As per usual, anyone that donates is gonna get the perks that come along with it and you'll find those on the donate page.

If I can go all Public Broadcast for a moment, I'll serve this to you kinda like this.

Would you say that you've had at least $1 worth of entertainment a month over the last year? That's $12. If 5 people have enjoyed the site that much, that's $60 and over 1/3 of the funds we need to raise.

If you've enjoyed it to the tune of $2 a month, that's $24 for the year and 5 people there nearly covers ALL of the hosting.

Of course, we don't want it to be totally up to you guys, and we will cover what ever the remainder ends up being after all the coins are counted and stacked.

Of course the amount you donate, and if you do at all is totally up to you, and we're not going to keep anyone from doing anything here on the site if they can't donate... but it's always appreciated.

I'll tell you what I'll do to sweeten the deal...

The first person to donate a minimum of $12 will get a free game from me from one of my Humble Monthly packs.

How's that?

Well not really...

But I have gone and done a few things here at the site that I think you might like.

First - Multiple file attachments. I know a whole lot of people don't use this at the moment, but lemme tell ya, it's so much easier to upload multiple files this way than it was the old way.

Second - Refreshing threads. If you're looking at a thread and someone comments, it will automatically update for ya.

Third - Least important of these three is a new window that guests and members who aren't signed in will see. This doesn't impact your usability of the site at all, but just maybe it'll encourage new folks to sign up and thus get a bigger audience for everyone and their respective works.

As per usual, if there's any questions, problems, or suggestions, leave em below.

So it's almost that time of the year again for the site's bills to get all paid up and, as per usual, we're going to come knocking on doors and making robocalls to get any assistance that we can possibly get.

But this year we kinda wanna try something different, so we're thinking of getting some shirts, cups, hats, all that kinda stuff made up.

The funds from that, those less than a donation at the end of the day, would go toward the hosting and, it's actually time to renew our domain name as well so that gets factored into the whole thing.

BlueHost is having some kinda special soon that I haven't got any notification about, but if we can get everything in before the due date, it could save us some cash.

When I know more about that, I'll spread it along, but what I'm wondering is... if we get the hats, shirts, and whatever... who would be interested in actually getting one? Looking at between $10-20 for an item probably? Most all of that is just going to cover production costs, the tiny bit of profit all goes to the site.

What say you, gentle reader?

First is just getting to your User Control Panel. That's where the magic happens and what people see when they click your name. Not in the chat though, that'll let you have a private conversation with someone.

Anyway...

Step 1 - Click on User CP

 01.jpg (Size: 89.72 KB / Downloads: 5)

This, obviously, will show you your User Control Panel. This was all the spots for the info you share with the rest of us. Most of the stuff is pretty self explanatory but we'll look at two things for now.

Step 2 - Changing your Avatar

 02.jpg (Size: 179.38 KB / Downloads: 5)

A little more than halfway down on the left you'll see where you can click to change your avatar.

Step 3 - Where's your Avatar?

 03.jpg (Size: 151.58 KB / Downloads: 5)

You can either upload your own, link to one online somewhere, or use the library they we've put together. The library is still in the process of getting cleaned up at the time of this post, so some of the images may be a bit large/strange ratios/too small/whatever. I'm working on that. Promise.

Clicking on the Gallery button will take you to... well... the gallery. Select the one you want and hit save at the bottom of the page. Done.

Step 4 - Social Sites

 04.jpg (Size: 104.51 KB / Downloads: 5)

 05.jpg (Size: 114.62 KB / Downloads: 6)

If you want to share your online presence with everyone here, this is the place to do it. Clicking on the Social Sites link will take you to a page populated with the sites we currently have in the plugin. I can add to this or remove things from it so if there's something missing you think needs to be there, let me know and I can get it added. All you have to do is stick your user ID from said site into the box and hit save. Once you have at least one of those filled in, the box will appear on your profile.

Of course most of that stuff is totally optional, but we don't really want to be so brash as to say we're the most inclusive site on the internet. Of course we want you to be able to keep whatever you want private, but that also means sharing what you want with us here. Sometimes it's kinda nice to just go to a profile and learn a bit about someone. Ya know?

Anyway, in the stack of things that are going to be added are also comments on profiles, I've been working on a game library, and we're trying to get comments on the videos here setup as well. As things change and get finished, I'll post about em here.

Thanks everyone for the time, support, and everything else.

Oh yeah, if you want to see your profile, as others do, you can just click on your name anywhere on the site. Normally it's at the top of the page under the navigation bar when you're in the forums.

So as I've had a little downtime lately I've been trying to fix a few things here at the site that I've been putting off. I'm am officially back in business and ready to get to my backlog of LPs, LBM, and Requests. I want to say thank you to everyone for their patience and well-wishes. It has an absolutely crazy couple of months and it all turned out for the best, but it's nice to have a return to normalcy. I will definitely be coordinating with the other guys for group projects (maybe I can get in on a race, even).

I'm not sure how everyone else uses the site/youtube channel these days but I myself have been quite fond of the "Hyper" app that's available on Windows 8/10 and probably other systems as well.

Part of the thing I like about that is the way it shows playlists, as you can see in the attached screen shot.

Now I've been making a pretty lazy attempt at getting my personal videos all setup with similar playlists, for the sake of consistency more than anything really, and I've decided that I'm going to go ahead and do the same for everyone else that posts on the LBG channel.

What does this mean for you folks? Well if you're kicking around YouTube Proper it'll be easier to recognize the video's that we do and, hopefully, be easier to see what episode is what based on the thumbnail and not have to rely so much on YouTube cutting off the last part of the titles.

Along with that, I'm redoing all the banners that you see on the game pages here at the site. Some of them were done years ago and the style was terrible... why did no one tell me I was bad at things other than video games?

Anyway, you'll slowly see these changes being applied to the site. I'm about halfway done with the banners I think... and the thumbnails are going pretty well.

Along with the thumbails, b t w, I'm finding a few episodes of things that were never added to the site. See the White Chamber and the final two episodes of Super Mario World... so you may see a video or two pop up at random on the front page. If that's the case, it was missing from the archives.

While I'm working on all of that, I am open to any other suggestions as to making the videos easier to find/read/watch/enjoy.

So if you've got thoughts, leave a comment or send me a PM if you'd rather it not be public. That's cool too. We don't want to hurt Scarlet's feelings openly all the time.

It is, once again, that time of year when the hosting of this little slice of heaven known as LowBiasGaming needs renewed. And like all the best public radio stations, we're coming to you to ask for some assistance keeping the doors open.

We need to raise $150 in a short month to get another year of hosting all setup.

Obviously we don't expect any single person to cover all that cost, members or viewers alike, nor do we expect you the viewers to shell out all the needed cash.

So we're coming to you to ask for any assistance you can provide to help us out here.

I can't speak for everyone here but here's what I will do for you if you're able to donate a bit.

For $10 you'll get a forum rank and an @lowbiasgaming.net email address.

For $20 you'll get all of that plus an LP request from me.

Anything above that and we'll be in touch to decide what you'd like to see happen.

As for Ragnatz, Scarlet, and Jade... I'll wait for them to post here what they'd like to do and for what levels of pledging.
